Beta programme terms
Last updated 9 August 2026
Lilla is in beta. We have invited a small number of organizations in Douala, Yaoundé and Buea to use it for real events and tell us honestly what works and what does not. These terms describe that arrangement. They sit alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which still apply — where anything here differs, this page wins for beta participants.
Who the beta is for
- Organizations based in Douala, Yaoundé or Buea.
- Teams that regularly run events, workshops, trainings, conferences or community activities — the beta only tells us anything if it is used for real events.
- Places are confirmed by us before you register, so we can properly support every organization on the programme. The group is deliberately small.
What it costs
Nothing. There is no fee to join, no fee during the beta, and no payment details are collected. Lilla does not process payments at all today — every event is free or RSVP.
If Lilla introduces paid plans later, we will not convert a beta workspace into a paying one automatically. You will be told what is changing, and you will have to agree before anything is charged. If you do not, you keep the ability to export your data and leave.
What we commit to
- Support while you use it. The group is small so that questions get real answers. Report anything broken and you will hear back from a person.
- Your data stays yours. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers. We do not contact your attendees to market Lilla to them.
- You can take it with you. A full export of your workspace — events, registrations, attendance and files — is available from the dashboard at any time, without asking us.
- Staff access is controlled and recorded. Lilla staff do not browse your attendee lists. Where support access is needed, it is governed by the controls in your settings and every look at personal data is logged.
- Notice before disruptive change. We will tell you in advance about changes that affect a live event, and we will not remove a feature you are relying on mid-event without warning.
What we ask of you
- Actually use Lilla for real events during the beta — that is the whole point.
- Tell us when something breaks, confuses you, or is missing. Unflattering feedback is more useful than polite feedback, and it is what we are asking for.
- Keep a way to run your event if Lilla fails. For anything with a door, that means an exportable attendee list you could check in on paper. We would rather say this plainly than have you find out on the night.
- Handle your attendees' data lawfully. You decide what to ask them for and why; Lilla holds it on your behalf.
Your attendees' data
Your organization decides what attendee information to collect and what to do with it. Lilla stores and processes it on your instructions, and does not use it for its own purposes. When you delete a registration or close your workspace, that data is deleted on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy.
Registration forms are yours to design, and each question you add carries the reason you gave for asking it. Please only ask for what you actually need — the beta is a good moment to find out how little that is.
What is not built yet
Being honest about this is more useful than a feature list. During the beta, Lilla does not do any of the following, and you should not plan around them:
- paid tickets, payouts, refunds or any handling of money;
- sending from your own email domain — every message goes out from Lilla;
- SMS to attendees on most workspaces; email is the delivery channel;
- integrations with other tools, and promotional or marketplace features.
Sections of the dashboard that are padlocked are padlocked because they are not real yet, not because they are locked to your plan.
Reliability during the beta
This is pre-release software. We keep backups and we take data loss seriously, but we cannot offer an uptime guarantee, and bugs will happen — that is what a beta is. If something goes wrong during one of your events, tell us and we will help you sort it out, including reconstructing records where we can.
Feedback
Feedback, bug reports and suggestions you send us may be used to improve Lilla without payment or obligation to you, and without any claim over your organization's name or content. If we want to quote you, name your organization, or use your event as a case study, we will ask first and you can say no.
Talking about it
You are free to tell people you use Lilla and to share what you think of it, publicly or otherwise — good or bad. We only ask that you do not announce features you have seen in development but which have not shipped, since plans change and we would rather not promise things through you.
Leaving, and ending the beta
- You can leave at any time, for any reason, without explaining why. Export your data first — we will help if anything is unclear.
- We may end a workspace's participation if it is used for something abusive, unlawful or misleading, in line with the Terms of Use.
- When the beta ends, you will get advance notice, a window to export everything, and a clear statement of what happens next. Your workspace will not simply stop working one morning.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page as the programme develops. The date above changes with it, and material changes will be sent to the contact we have for your organization rather than left for you to notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon. We would much rather resolve anything by talking to you first — the programme is small enough that this is realistic.
